After a flat opening, Nifty slipped to the 24,310 level but gradually recovered in the first half. The index then oscillated between 24,335–24,400 for the rest of the session before settling negative with a loss of 0.16 percent.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index outperformed the Nifty 50, closing positive with a gain of 0.15 percent.
